Sue, Your work is amazing and so creative! I admire people with such wonderful artistic abilities, especially since I don't have any whatsoever! Nonetheless, I will never understand why someone would want to 'engrave' something on their body permanently! It has nothing even to do with the pain (although that would be a major deterrent in itself!), but more so because what if you decide 5, 10 or 25 years from now you don't like the design any longer or worse, wish you never had a tattoo in the first place? What then? I know my tastes have changed since I was a teenager. What will they do at that point?? I keep on picturing all these kids of today with all their tattoos as senior citzens one day. Not a very flattering image in my mind :) I guess I'm showing my age!! Absolutely great choice of song and amazing art work Sue! You may have found your niche....a tattoo artist! Marisa
Laurie -- Thanks... it's a good thing you like it, it's on your kid!
Beth -- Owwwww is right! And if I draw a tattoo, but I'm not the person operating the machine to engrave it in the kid's skin, am I a tattoo artist? or just an artist? It's definitely a permanent installation, though.
Anonymous -- 'fess up, who are you? I'm glad you like it, though. The video was long, but the process was way longer.
Marisa -- I know what you mean, and I talked to both of the boys about that, more than once. But when you are that age, you don't realize how much reality changes when you get older. I guess they could always have new tattoos applied over top of the old tattoo, when they don't like it anymore, or maybe the lazer removal surgery will be easier in the future. On the other hand, SO MANY people have tattoos now -- girls and guys -- that they will hardly be unique when they are old, they will be one of most of their generation with a tattoo somewhere. RJ's can be hidden, even with just a t-shirt. Which is good.
I had to mentioned, Lief specifically had his tattoos so that a short sleeve shirt would cover them for business purposes. He can go to work in short sleeves and does not have any "looks" that he's inappropriate or have to explain anything which is good when you work for a company with many large corporate clients. Just something for the kids to think about down the road
Beth -- It's certainly working with Lief, I never think of him as having tattoos! Both kids are fine for business attire, the way they are now. I believe their mamas may have made sure of that...
